Climate & Best Time
Agra has hot summers that extend from April to July. During this period,
temperature reaches a maximum of 46 degrees centigrade. Winters, from
December to February, show a minimum temperature of 5 degrees centigrade.
Monsoons hit the city during August and continue till November. The weather
during this period remains hot with good amount of humidity in the air.

» Taj Mahal
Positioned on the banks of river Yamuna, Taj Mahal was erected by Mughal
emperor Shah Jahan in the loving tribute of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The
exemplary structure took 22 hard years to complete.
» Agra Fort
A tourist's next big sight to visit in Agra is this splendid fort. Its
foundation stone was laid in 1565 AD by the Mughal emperor Akbar himself.
Subsequent additions were made by Jehangir and Shah Jehan.
» Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah
Yet another attraction for tourists in Agra is the Itimad-ud-Daulah's tomb.
The structure was built by empress Noor Jehan, wife of Mughal emperor
Jehangir, in the memory of his father.
» Fatehpur Sikri

A drive of a few hours takes you to another renowned site Fatehpur
Sikri (37 km from Agra). The deserted city served as Akbar's capital between
1571 and 1585. Buland Darwaza and the tomb of sufi Salim Chishti are famous
attractions here.

The Kheria Airport of Agra has regular flights of Indian Airlines and
Alliance Air connecting to Delhi, Khajuraho and Varanasi. An air journey
from Agra to Delhi spans just 35 minutes. The most convenient way to travel
to Agra is by trains. Shatabdi Express and Taj Express are the most
preferred options to reach Agra from Delhi. The road network of Agra is also
well established.
